SANIBONANI SOUTH AFRICA- WELCOME TO MY CITY PART 2

A few months ago I promised a part two of the "Welcome to my city" post. Here goes ☺

A blanket of stars almost always cloaks us, our equivalent to the city light that shine so bright.
Traffic jams are not of concern, instead we wait at stop-streets for donkey carts to take their turns.

Weekends are spent bundu-bashing, in search of new adventures. With trucks and cows and mountains and rivers on the way, its easy to get a little dazed. Fishing is a big sport, attracting tourist too. A perfect weekend would be spent with friends & family in a cozy camping site set up by us all. There's nothing more fitting for lunch than potjie-kos and pap, or a fish braai.

So for a renewal of the mind, body and soul, come down to my Farm Town and experience what I do, Everyday ☺

SANIBONANI SOUTH AFRICA - CAPE TOWN CARNIVAL

Recently this blog has been seeming more like a fashion blog than anything else. My apologies. Here's an event post (other than fashion event), which is long overdue.

If you're in and around Cape Town this weekend be sure not to miss the 4th annual Cape Town Carnival. A celebration of diversity and African culture & heritage. This years theme: AFRICAN LEGENDS.

Its all going down this Saturday, the 16th of March on the fan walk, Green point. It promises excitement for the whole family. Starting at 5pm until midnight. Don't fear, hunger will not strike as food will be sold along the way from 3pm. Expect to be dazzled by the best of Africa.

Performers include 2010 Idols finalist, L' loyd Cele, Claire Philips, Crazy White Boy and Dj Ready D.

So come alive with Cape Town and join in the fun and lively atmosphere.

SANIBONANI South Africa- Charity

This past weekend I attended and participated in a ladies lunch and fashion show to collect funds and raise awareness for Gaza, Palestine.

Thanx to all the organizers for all the hard work that they put in, the event was a great success and thoroughly enjoyed by all the attendees.

I'm sure most of you are familiar with the struggle in Palestine. Apartheid, yes, being South African we all know what that is. Being born in the 1990's I was fortunate enough not to experience apartheids oppression. Yet looking into the eyes and listening to the stories of those who lived through it, brings shivers and tears to my eyes.

Reading about and viewing pictures of the current state in Palestine is heart breaking. The little that we can do to assist the people of Palestine, must be done. Looking at SA and how far we've come, brings hope for the future of Palestine. Please remember them in your prayers. Palestine must be free!

SANIBONANI SA - Welcome To My CITY (Part 1)

Welcome to my city. Far away from the buzzing cities of SA, between mountains, hides my happy place, my piece of heaven, my farm town. No, we don't have sky high buildings here, but what we do have is sky scraper trees.
The ocean may be miles away, but surrounding us are beauteous dams.
The water so clear, the air so fresh, more so after a summers rain.
Right now the flowers have bloomed and the sight is oh so heavenly. Nature at its best. These sunsets are incomparable and donkey carts rule this town. Yes, this is my little eden, a place I call home.(Keep a lookout for part 2)
