AR-TEE CRAF-TEE SLUMBER PAR-TEE

Do you remember when you were little and you'd put on your cutest, favourite pajamas and have your friends sleep over? You'd giggle and talk, play games and watch horror movies which seriously scared you and made you ever more grateful to have your bestie beside you.

The good old days aaahhh.

I really don't see the point in letting go of priceless pleasures just because you a few years older. I might not be a tween or even a teen anymore but a sleepover with friends still warms my heart.
An adult slumber party? Now that sounds rad. Add in some crafts and to the moon we go.

The invites.

Last night's Crafty slumber party was just what was needed to ease my ever busy mind. Sleepovers on a week-and-work night? Scandalous!

Here's what went down.

The Craft Station was the nights main attraction.
Summer nights are way too short. We only managed to squeeze in 3 crafts/diys, a pancake bar, a bunch of laughs and a movie.

First up, modelling clay. I did a little demo on how to make clay flowers.

Messy hands.

So pretty, right?

Second craft, a home made body scrub.
Good enough to eat!

Lastly at the end of the night as our eyes began closing we squeezed in an easy strain-less DIY.
Washi tape candles.

Snacks is a must.
Popcorn & Chocolate? What a wonderful combo!! Made by a generous, sweet friend.

Crumpet/Pancake Bar. Fluffiest crumpets ever! (Recipe over here.)
OM NOM NOM

Oh yes! Goody Bags that guests filled up with their crafts and carried home this morning.

Paints for the clay sculptures. Unfortunately we didn't get that far. That only means another crafty night should be planned soon!

INDIAN PANCAKES

Indian pancakes A.K.A Gowla

These little wonders(yes they are wonders!) are fluffier than the regular pancakes/crepes and the ones I shared over here.

Ingredients
4 eggs
4 tablespoons sugar
4 tablespoons flour
200ml milk

Method
1. Lightly beat eggs.
2. Add the sugar, flour and milk. Whisk together.
3. Heat a frying pan, spray with spray&cook.
4. Pour some batter and fry on medium. Once the pancake starts pulling from the sides, turn over and fry on low until golden.

Makes 10 perfect pancakes.

Top them with nutella, chocolate mousse, fresh cream&strawberries, bananas, sugar&cinnamon or do it the Indian way by whipping up a cream mixture consisting of Nestlé cream, sugar and coconut. Put one pancake in a deep plate, cover with the cream mixture and top with another pancake. Continue layering ending with cream on top. Top with slivered almonds, cut into diamonds and refrigerate for an hour.

DIY FACIAL MASSAGE

Last week we discussed facial exercise; the benefits and what it entails. Have you tried it out?

This week we'll have a look at facial massage. To read about the benefits of facial massage refer back to this post.
Here are two quick and fun massage sequins to do daily.

When massaging remember to always massage in an up and outwards direction. The best massage medium would be an oil. Try a vitamin e oil, tissue oil or an olive oil.

RING + ROPE DIY CHAIN

What You Need:
*A rope (the one I used was a belt)
*Rings and embellishments
*Chain clasp
*Scissors

What to do:

1. First i cut the ends of the belt. Since being a belt, the one end had a hole. Using a needle and lighter I made a hole in the other end.

2. Stack up your rings

3. Add a chain, or not.

4. Add a chain clasp to the ends.

Complete!

MODEL APPROVED FACIAL EXERCISES FOR A PLUMPER, YOUNGER LOOKING YOU

I  am yet to meet a woman that does not want a smooth, toned and glowing face. Recently I read an article about facial exercise and facial massage. I gave it a try and within a week my dull lifeless skin was transformed.

According to Byrdie, the idea of facial exercise is simple: Just like you would work out your thighs to make them firmer, facial
exercise is founded on the belief that working out your face muscles will tone, lift, and boost volume.

Facial Massage on the other hand helps to rid yhe skin of dead skin cells, warms the tissues thus producing a feeling of relaxation and improves skin colour. Facial massage is known to stimulate the glands under the skin to mantain the skins natural moisture and oil balance.

So many benefits? Yippy let's give it a try, shall we?

Below are 3 Model-approved facial exercises

Exercise 1- FISH LIPS

Part One
1. Suck in your cheeks like a fish, with your lips pursed.
2. With your lips still pursed, smile as hard as you can. (try and relax every other part of your face, like your eyes, while doing this.)
3. Hold for 10 seconds.
4. Relax.
5. Repeat three times.
Part Two
1. Repeat steps one and two from Part One.
2. This time, instead of holding the pose, try to wriggle or “pump” your cheek muscles up and down 12 times while your cheeks are still sucked in. (“You won’t see very much movement if you’re looking in a mirror, but you should feel it,”)
3. Relax.

Exercise 2- KISS FACE

Part One
1. Pout your lips like you’re about to kiss someone.
2. Smile as hard as you can with your lips still pursed. (Make sure to keep your eyes relaxed.)
3. Hold for 10 seconds.
4. Relax.
5. Repeat three times.
Part Two
1. Repeat steps one and two from Part One.
2. Pump your cheek muscles up and down 12 times with your lips still pursed.
3. Relax.

Exercise 3- THE WHISTLER

Part One
1. Make an “O” with your lips, like you’re going to whistle.
2. Smile as hard as you can, with your lips still forward in the “O” shape.
3. Hold for 10 seconds.
4. Relax.
5. Repeat three times.
Part Two
1. Repeat steps one and two from Part One.
2. Pump your cheek muscles up and down 12 times with your lips still in an “O” shape.
3. Relax.

Now that wasn't too bad, now was it?
Do these daily and soon your friends will be asking you where you got your botox done!
